Thamesmead School are holding a Family and Tutors Fun Run (or jog/walk) on Sunday 7th May, starting at 10am.
There will be an opportunity to take part over a 2.5k course or a 5k course with your family friends and/or tutor group.
Refreshments, including Bacon rolls will be on sale too.
As parents will be aware there is a very difficult funding situation facing all state schools in this country. Lack of adequate finance is forcing schools to consider cuts not least in resources such as IT and even sports equipment. Here at Thamesmead the staff are determined not to allow this lack of funding to have a detrimental effect on your children’s education but we can only do this with your support.
There are two very easy ways parents can help:
1) Take part, preferably as a family, in the Thamesmead Family & Tutors Fun Run on Sunday 7th May. Entry is £10 per family (or £3 for a child/£4 for an adult) and an entry form is available at the link below. We encourage all families to take part in this community event which brings all the house groups and tutor groups together.
2) Sponsor the Headteacher in his bid to raise funds for the school as he takes on the challenge of a 100 mile bike ride. He will be starting in the very early hours of the morning on Sunday 7th May and plans to finish at the Family Fun Run. If you would like to sponsor Mr Rodin you can do so here

Parents help will make a huge difference. Thank you
