Curriculum Information for Key Stage 3 students

 

Welcome to the History department

Aim:

Students are able to critically analyse a range of historical events and figures through source analysis, discussion, extended writing, evaluation of interpretations.  Students will have a confident grasp of the historical skills of causation, chronology, source analysis, change and continuity, significance and interpretations.

Overview:      

To give a chronological overview of British, European and word history and to offer insights into key historical figures and events.

What topics will I study in KS3 (years 7, 8 & 9):

 

Can I study this at KS4?    

Yes – GCSE History, EDUQAS

 

Are there any enrichment opportunities in school?

History Club, School Trips (vary annually)

 

What could I do/read at home to help myself or where could I visit to help my learning?

History documentaries on TV or YouTube.  Any books related to Historical figures or events
