Thamesmead students were celebrating this morning as they received the news about their excellent GCSE results.
90% achieved a pass grade in the new style English exams and 83% in Maths, with 80% passing both exams. Indeed their success extended across the curriculum with 85% achieving passes in at least two Sciences and over 90% of entries in Music, Drama and Art.
There were several students with outstanding grades, but none could better Jamie Stewart who achieved grade 9 in English Language, Literature and Maths, A* in all of his other subjects and an A in Additional Maths.
Headteacher Peter Rodin said, “We are delighted with these results. As a consequence of their hard work and the superb support they have received from their teachers and parents our students have not only gained excellent grades in the new style English and Maths exams but also across a very wide range of subjects. We wish them every success for the future.”
