Delighted students at Thamesmead received their GCSE results today and had the added bonus of finding out that they had beaten all previous exam records in the school. 80% of the year group gained five or more A*-C grades, including English and Maths. Five students, Charlie Feinson, Abigail Coleman, Melanie Ferris, Lisa Kent and Alastair Saunders all achieved a complete set of grades which were A* or A. In addition to outstanding results in English, Maths and Science, students achieved particularly well in the performing arts, Physical Education, ICT, Art and modern foreign languages.
Headteacher, Peter Rodin, said, “I am really delighted that so many of our students have been able to achieve the results that they needed to be able to go on to their chosen college courses or training routes. This success is entirely due to the dedication and hard work of the students themselves and the support they have received from their teachers and families. We wish them every possible success in the future.”
