GCSE Success 2022

GCSE Exam Results 2021-22

25th August 2022

Students and staff at Thamesmead are celebrating GCSE success. Students sat GCSE exams for the first time since 2019 as a result of the disruption caused by the pandemic.

Congratulations and well done to all our Thamesmead students who have received their results today. These results are even more impressive when you consider the extra hard work and focus this cohort of students have had to maintain to overcome the challenges of the last few years.

81% of our students have achieved a grade 4 or above in Maths and English (standard pass) which ensures that they can progress smoothly to their next steps beyond Thamesmead and we wish them all the best of success, be it sixth form study, further education college, apprenticeships, or employment.

12 of our students achieved an impressive number of Grade 9s, the highest grade available, in 6 or more of their GCSE subjects.

We are still waiting for the exam boards to confirm several provisional results which we anticipate will increase these further, and therefore it would be unfair to share individual successes while we await this final confirmation. However, you can see how happy our students were with their grades from the photographs below.
