NCS is a life enhancing opportunity for Year 11 students, it only costs £50 and Bursaries are available. This is refundable if cancellation occurs due to Covid.
National Citizen Service (NCS) is an opportunity that helps 16-17 year olds build skills for work and life, embark on new challenges, meet new people and contribute to your local community.
The aims of the NCS programme are:
- Social Cohesion:
Young people are mixed together in teams of 12-15 with others from the same local area but, importantly, representing different schools and the mix of young people living from within their local authority.
- Social Mobility:
Helping young people gain the knowledge, skills and experience to be successful in their chosen fields of study or employment. NCS provides both experiences and examples for young people to use in their university applications.
- Social Engagement:
Young people are given the skills and tools to lead a Social Action Project that is meaningful and impactful in scope.
